Campaign on Energy Efficiency Among Government Employees

Research on EE knowledge and practice carried out in 2008 among government employees in Malaysia revealed that EE awareness and training is necessary to improve knowledge and practices on EE. The 2008 study also concludes that the government policies on EE and Energy Conservation objectives could not be achieved successfully without clear and systematic implementation of Energy Conservation Program throughout government offices nationwide. The program should not only promote awareness but also improve knowledge and practices on EE among government employees through budget allocation to implement program and consultancy projects.

Thus further study will be carried out in the form of EE campaign and training, targeted to some selected government offices. The study includes EE survey, EE awareness program and observations. The objective of the study is to investigate the change of attitude and practices on EE base on knowledge given in the form of talk, exhibition, campaign and assistance by researchers.

Proposed campaign materials may include:-
1. Leaflets on Energy consumption.
2. Brief fact and figures on Energy Consumption.
3. Leaflets on Global warming and climate change.
4. Tips to save energy.
5. Guidebook on EE practices.
6. Simple EE demonstration kit on EE lighting.
7. Computer animation on EE Practices.
8. Posters & banners.
